I saw one woman A on the MRT 2 days ago. She was standing at first. Then 3 people sitting together alighted, leaving 3 consecutive seats vacant. She sat in the middle of the 3 empty seats. A family (of different race from her) came in with a baby in pram. The mummy sat down on her right and carried the baby.. The daddy remained standing as the seat to left of woman A was taken up by some foreign worker. The baby then started moving about.
Although annoyed by the baby’s movement, she remained seated… but she kept on throwing that annoyed glances at the baby. She also kept on turning to her left amd showing gestures obviously discriminating the foreign worker and to “show” everyone how stinky he is.
I think it is quite naturally people will take the center seat like woman A, but sometimes, they just do not realise that they are actually seperating a couple from sitting together. If you take a seat in the center, you also get DOUBLE the uncertainty to who will be seated next to you. If “Known 1″ is a good looking lady, then maybe if you sit right next to her you might think she or people might think you are just trying to sit close to her. I can understand.

On the bus, some people just like to sit near the isle.
#1 – if the bus is packed with standing passengers, then you get the risk of smelling or scrubing your FACE or HAIR against the FRONT-LOWER part (you know what) of the standing person right beside you; especially when leaning against something gives better balance than holding the edge of the seats. To the Men, you may easily be accused for molesting.
… and if the passenger seated next to you near the window wants to alight in the “crowded and messy situation”, NORMALLY, people might just lean back against their seat and let the person get out, or people might just turn their body towards isle. This way, AREN’T YOU STICKING YOUR FACE CLOSER TO the YOU-KNOW-WHAT. YUCK.
#2 – sometimes the bus is not very crowded, but still “You” still choose to remain seated while letting the person next to you get out to the isle. FOR GODNESS SAKE, CAN YOU JUST STAND UP from your seat and MAKE WAY FOR THE PERSON?? Do you really like smelling or “sanding” your face against you-know-what.
#3 – if the aircon is too cold or dripping water… i can understand.
